Twickenham Stadiums top 3 largest spaces for hosting physically distanced events

Demand for large spaces is on the rise since the introduction of physical distancing and capacities as venues knew before COVID-19 dropped rapidly overnight. Technology has been instrumental in helping the team at Twickenham understand the impact physical distancing has had on our capacities and how people movement can be managed via signage and one way flows.

We've picked out three of our largest spaces, their features, updated capacities and reasons why they make good spaces for physical distancing.

Rose Suite

Our largest space within the stadium, the Rose Suite can host up to 480 for a dinner, 645 in a theatre layout and 305 in cabaret, all based on physical distancing. Situated on the ground floor of the South Stand, with easy access straight into the space off Whitton Road and fully equipped with a large dedicated bar, plasma screens and integrated speakers. The space can be split into two separate rooms using a built in divider, while still allowing for separate entrances. People movement can be made easier in the Rose Suite due to direct access onto the concourse, which allows one way systems to be implemented.

The Rose Suite is also situated next door to the Live Room auditorium and is a very short distance away from a further 8 break out spaces positioned on level 2 of the South Stand.

The Lock

Situated within the East Stand on level 3 are Lock No. 4 & 5, two standalone spaces with natural daylight and pitch views. The Lock No.4 has the capacity of 348 for a dinner and 160 in cabaret based on reduced socially distanced capacities and 390 for dinner and 171 cabaret in Lock No. 5.

The Lock formed part of the multi-million pound East Stand re-development which opened in autumn 2018 and exudes a premium interior and relaxed atmosphere.

Both of the spaces feature a built in HD projector and screen, individual booth areas with pitch-views, integrated sound system and fixed reception desks. Event organisers can also benefit from direct access out into the stadium bowl which is currently available on request as a catering break-out space to allow delegates to take their lunch outside to the in-bowl seating.

With two access points per space and access to the seating bowl, handling the flow of guests is again easily manageable.

Live Room

The Live Room is Twickenham Stadium's purpose built auditorium situated within the South Stand, which features a dedicated entrance and foyer direct from Whitton Road, tiered bleacher seating, a 4k HD projector and screen, X truss and AV booth. The space can host up to 210 for a dinner and 360 in theatre based on physical distancing.

The Live Room benefits from direct access to the stadium concourse, allowing ease of loading and flow of guests.

The space has hosted a huge range of events from car product launches and conferences, to gala dinners and live performances.
