England Rugby Hospitality, the official brand of the Rugby Football Union wins 'Best Sports Club / Sports Event Hospitality' at the 2019 Sports Business Awards.
Operated by Twickenham Experience Limited and sold in partnership with Keith Prowse, the win recognises the successful design and launch of hospitality facilities in the new East Stand at Twickenham Stadium, which hosts up to 4,500 guests on match days. The 6,700 sqm of high-end space, in the form of four distinct world-class England Rugby hospitality venues, is designed to take the hospitality experience to new heights. The stand's launch means that all official match day hospitality can now be accommodated within Twickenham Stadium.
Simon Massie-Taylor, chief commercial officer at the Rugby Football Union said: "The Sports Business Awards win is a testament to the hard work and dedication of a huge team of staff and partners who have realised our vision for world-class hospitality at the Home of England Rugby.
"We have truly raised the bar for stadium hospitality and feedback from guests has been overwhelmingly positive in each of our venues," added Massie-Taylor.
Nils Braude, catering, conference and events director at Twickenham Stadium said: "We deliberately set out to create concepts that would offer guests a very distinct choice when it comes to hospitality enabling them to tailor the experience to suit their needs and those of their guests. And that approach has paid off. Gone is the standard hospitality one-size-fits-all plated meal served at tables of ten. Instead, our new facilities, designed to accommodate a range of styles, table sizes and price points to suit varied budgets and group sizes, have delivered an experience that is hard to beat."
Andy Vinsen, managing director at Keith Prowse added: "The hospitality product at Twickenham Stadium has transformed the way guests enjoy a sporting occasion. Once again, we are pushing the boundaries to deliver the finest customer experiences. We are seeing a shift in who, how and why guests are attending sporting events and this award is recognition of the success of the delivery and uptake of the new hospitality facilities at Twickenham."
The new East Stand venues not only pair world-class sport with world-class dining, but enables investment back into the sport from grassroots clubs to the elite England teams, through the Rugby Football Union which reinvests its profit back into the game.
